Why Serious Entrepreneurs Need a Blog For Their Business

Why Serious Entrepreneurs Need a Blog For Their BusinessI wanted to review the reasons why having a blog will ultimately help your network marketing business. It is becoming more and more evident for even brick and mortar businesses to go the route of a blog.

The main reason for this is related to the essential part of doing business….which is to build a relationship with your prospects/clients or customers and gain their trust. As we all know, people tend to do business with others whom they know, like and trust.

However, for network marketers specifically, there are even more reasons.

A blog is a multi-media platform, you can post texts, pictures and videos. More importantly a blog  is interactive and involves your viewers, so it’s more like a conversation, it is a form of  “networking”.

If you are a serious network marketing entrepreneur, you need to own a blog for these specific reasons:

1. Branding Yourself

It will definitely set you apart from everyone else because you are  providing value to others and offering solutions to their problems. Your blog will reflect YOU, all your skills and talents as well as your personality.

2. Becoming an Authority in Your Niche Market

A blog allows you a platform to teach and to have published content which you can then syndicate. One thing I want to mention here, for you to provide value to others you must first be actively learning and implementing new knowledge to help yourself in your own business, then you need to write about it and share your strategies with others.

3. Credibility

By offering valuable content you will be viewed as a resource, as long as you are providing an unbiased source of information. Also always remember the 90:10 rule; 90% pure value and ask nothing in return with only 10% product and blog promotion.

If you are doing all 3 of these above factors, you will mold yourself into a leader that others will seek out and want to work with. This makes recruiting into your primary MLM company that much easier. People work with leaders, not companies or compensation plans.

Here is the process of a successful blog:

1) Educate and solve others problems. Provide value.

2) Share the content of your blog either through social media or on autopilot syndication.

3) Capture a person’s contact information at which point they become a lead.

4) Build rapport and keep adding value and helping others build their business.

5) Eventually you will gain others trust and some will join you in your opportunity and many will purchase an affiliate product or system recommendation that you have tested and been successful with.

One last point I’d like to deliver…

Step back for a moment and contrast a blog with offline recruiting.

Offline you have a one-shot encounter, of which they never asked to be approached by you nor requested your information. You will also need to deal with the objections regarding the network marketing industry in general.

A blog, on the other hand, allows you to build rapport naturally and gain trust over time. A person who fills out a webform on your blog has done so willingly. Blogs are attracting highly qualified and motivated people who want answers to building a network marketing business. You are acquiring FREE leads passively. No more chasing friends, family and strangers.

Another awesome feature that I have found with my blog  is that it has become the perfect answer to the often asked question of  “Why should I work with you?” All you need to do is point them to your blog which will be quite obvious that you kinda know what you are doing when it comes to building a network marketing business, and if they are already in network marketing-you possibly could become more of a valuable resource to them than their upline sponsor currently is.

I even direct my new recruits to specific blog posts and pages that I have already written that are like mini-trainings for them when they are first getting started.

So there you have it, the importance of blogging for your business.

3 Critical Mindsets to Adopt for Effective Social Media Marketing

3 Critical Mindsets to Adopt for Effective Social Media MarketingThis is a continuation of my first post on social media marketing for your business, you can read this post here if you haven’t already: Social Media-the New Way of Doing Business

If you are willing to take a relationship-centric approach to building your network marketing business, you will likely emerge as a leader in this industry. One such way of best utilizing this approach is with social media.

Here are the 3 Critical Mindsets to adopt with your social media marketing:

  • generosity
  • vulnerability
  • candor

Whenever you interact with others online, keep these characteristics in mind, if you are adopting these, you will no doubt develop meaningful interactions. Two-way relationships are key. Just like building a relationship, you want to get involved in what’s being said, you want to listen empathetically and look to give more than you get. This will develop into lasting, loyal relationships that will make introducing your business or services with others effortlessly.

Generosity

Let’s face it, web 2.0 is a very noisy space, but leading with generosity grabs people’s attention and makes them take notice of you. Your goal is to make your online friend’s lives easier. Provide free useful information and get them thinking, asking questions, interacting and wanting to learn more. Just remember the “70-20-10″ rule.

Studies indicate new customers and prospects need to be touched by 5 pieces of content or interactions before they decide to buy or join you in anything.

Always remember to listen, as it is a prerequisite to giving. If you don’t learn about your prospect or potential customer, how are you able to effectively give back?

Vulnerability

This is all about having the courage to be yourself and to be personal. A great way to get others involved and engaged with your business is to take polls and get their opinions on ways you could creatively market your products and services.

Ask questions about anything….i.e. ask your followers that you need new music for your iPod for working out, then ask what genre of music is best to work out to, or ‘what is your favorite sports team and why?’-then share your favorite team and explain why.  Anything that gets the conversation going and which you can share a little more about yourself at the same time.

Also share your frustrations in life, share what you are thankful for, tell others your plans for the weekend, etc. The key is to open up and be relatable to your followers and friends.

Candor

This is the freedom to be honest and engage in healthy, caring, purposeful criticism as part of a 2-way conversation. By doing this you will increase loyalty in those that follow you. Listening to others is important here as it will help you understand where they are coming from and allow you to adapt your interactions more effectively.

For example, someone you just met begins to notice that you are part of a network marketing business and may comment that they had a bad experience with MLM. Dig deeper and continue the conversation in a caring way and validate their concerns while at the same time highlighting your positive experiences with your business. Others will take notice and join the conversation.

If you maintain these 3 mindsets with your online interactions, your relationships will have lasting meaning and ultimately your business will be transformed as people will eventually “know, like and trust you” and will naturally want to do business with you.

The Unified Tribe-My Review

The Unified Tribe My ReviewI wanted to give a quick review of The Unified Tribe. Many of you have already heard of it, many of you have already joined, but if you are on the fence as I was, then read on…..

To those of you who don’t have a blog yet: Blogging truly is an incredible tool for attracting and retaining  leads, earning affiliate commissions as well as a great platform to build relationships and recruit others into your business. I highly recommend Blog Mastery Formula if you are interested in blogging but don’t know where to start. Basically it’s a blog-in-a-box. It has everything you will need to get set up and start earning money and generating leads, learn more here: Blog Mastery Formula. Once set up, blogs are very inexpensive to maintain, mine is around $9/month.

If you have a blog, good for you, you are already ahead of the game! Now read on because you will definitely want to hear more about The Unified Tribe….

If you take the time to create valuable content, but you don’t have traffic to your blog, then it’s pretty much useless. Social Media has been a way to greatly increase exposure to blog content. However, done the right way, this can be very time-consuming. Many outsource this task and  hire someone to promote their content on social media. But not everyone has that kind of money. Time and Money….the never-ending commodities.

So this now leads me into The Unified Tribe….

So what is this whole tribe business about? Apparently the tribe concept is pretty popular these days in several different industries, network marketing is no exception.  The Unified Tribe is fairly new. It is very popular and word-of-mouth is making it go viral.

I first heard about The Unified Tribe via Mike Dillard who has been heavily promoting it. So that basically was my stamp of approval. However, I wasn’t exactly ready to join yet, I was one of those “wait and see” individuals, wanting to make sure I was utilizing my marketing budget wisely. I also belonged to some Facebook tribes, so I wasn’t sure I needed to join yet another tribe.

Well I waited and I saw. Many of my fellow network marketers were buzzing about it and sharing their results. (see one here, this was his first day on the tribe:  http://meetyole.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/400UTtraffic.jpg )

The Unified Tribe is a community of like-minded individuals who promote each others content. Once submitted, your content gets shared on autopilot. It’s basically peer syndication and as you can see, it’s remarkably effective. Not only will it improve your blog’s SEO, but it will allow you more time to devote to creating value-based content to keep your readers happy and trusting you.

You do have to give before you receive in The Unified Tribe, it is a 5:1 ratio. You promote 5 tribe member’s content, then you are able to submit your blog post to the tribe, where they will promote it many times over. Your content is always in the system, it will never go away unless you want it to.

Katie Freiling and The Unified Tribe have made it incredibly easy to share other’s content; I can share 5 other’s content within 10 minutes or less, depending on how long their post is.  You see, it’s one thing to promote your own content, but SEO is so much better and the search engines will rank you much higher if someone else is doing your content promotion. The tribe members are sending it out to all their connections on Facebook, Twitter, Digg and/or Stumble Upon. So this one piece of content you create only once is getting massive exposure many times over for the entire length of time you keep it in the tribe. That’s the true meaning of leverage.

So one night after 2 hours of tirelessly promoting my content on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, I decided I needed to leverage my time better and The Unified Tribe seemed like the perfect solution for doing this.

My results have been very good. I have already received much better blog content promotion from The Unified Tribe compared to the Facebook tribes I belong to. The Unified Tribe members have more incentive to promote my content because they have to give before they can receive. The Unified Tribe closely monitors for any spammy behavior and does not tolerate it, which I felt was a huge problem on the Facebook tribes. There has been a wealth of awesome content that I have actually learned a great deal from myself and have no problems promoting to my connections. My blog subscriber rate and blog traffic have also considerably increased in only the few days I have been on the tribe.

There is a “classroom” within the tribe with a video training library of 24 ‘how to’ videos on all facets of social media, blogging, autoresponders, etc. This is very valuable information at your fingertips. The Unified Tribe has monthly and bi-monthly webinars called  “live class”, “Q & A” and “Mastermind”. They also encourage you to form your own personal mastermind group within the Tribe. These connections are vital to continued success. The caliber of quality connections is very high on The Unified Tribe.

If it results in just one affiliate commission or personal sign up to your primary business or a single product sale, which it likely will, then it has paid for itself. This has already happened for me.

Time truly is money, and by saving my time and leveraging my efforts, I can utilize  my time more wisely for other money-making activities.

So The Unified Tribe gets my two thumbs-up approval. I encourage you to learn more and do yourself a favor and sign up here today: The Unified Tribe.

If you don’t see results in one month, you can always cancel.

Hope this was helpful, if you liked what I wrote, please share it with your social networks. Thanks!

Twitter Tools for Business Building-Part 3

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3This is the final installment of Twitter Tools for Business Building. Tweet Beep, Twellow, Twollo, Twitter Tab and Revisit will be discussed. As new innovative Twitter tools become available, I will mention them here in my blog.  The 5 mentioned in this post are very useful and will help save time as well as create traffic to your website.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3Tweet Beep allows you to manage your online Twitter reputation. Alerts will be emailed to you whenever someone tweets about your business, your name, or your domain. You select the alert criteria and what to watch for. This is great if you are into Attraction Marketing and have a vested interest about branding and online identity.

Tweet Beep can also get you more traffic to your blog. Whatever keywords you want to attract in your blog posts, you can enter into Tweet Beep. Tweet Beep will then send you emails whenever someone mentions your subject matter or keywords (i.e. Twitter tools, or attraction marketing, etc.) in a tweet. What you would do next is follow these people (usually they will automatically follow you back) and give them updates about the subject matter and share information with those followers.

There is a Premium account; at $20/month you get 200 alerts, a 15 minute alert option, and no advertisements.

Twollo is very similar to Tweet Beep. It also allows you to manage your online reputation by tracking what people are saying about you or your website or products. Twollo also allows you to gain targeted followers.  When you create an account, you will be allowed to submit keywords and Twollo will then automatically locate and follow people who share your interests. Many of these people will then follow you. There is a monthly cost, but it is affordable and starts out at $5.99/month for 5 keywords, but you can trial it for free for 4 days.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3

Twellow is a Twitter directory that categorizes users according to interest/topic and some list users from most followers to least. Within your account can set up a personal profile where you will be able to show your recent tweets, share links to your websites and create an extended bio. Most profile pages are indexed by Google, so this is also an added bonus of Twellow.

Twellow and Twollo, besides their cute little names, are good places to listen to the issues and questions in your industry, where you can also have a chance to provide appropriate answers. These websites can be one of the first places you hear about new developments in your industry, as well as allow you a chance to build valuable business relationships.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3

Twitter Tab is an application within Facebook that lets you include your Twitter updates as a Tab within your Facebook Profile and Facebook Pages.

Here is an example of my Twitter Tab: http://bit.ly/boBrpg

There is a VIP option which allows you to customize the appearance of your twitter page on Facebook, including a background image, and choosing background color, text color, hover color or border color. You can also use your default Twitter background which is what I did. The cost for VIP is $10 for one year.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3

Revisit lets you create a really cool, animated Twitter wall. Basically it collects tweets related to a topic of your interest and will then display them along a timeline. The tweets that have received the most popularity will be displayed larger and near the center. It is constantly changing (not static). Click on the this demo for an animated visualization of Revisit in action.

On a lighter note, I wanted to wrap up this 3 part series on Twitter tools by sharing  a super funny video about Twitter users. Fortunately, if you are primarily using Twitter as a  business-building tool, you don’t fit the mold depicted in this video. But I am sure a fair amount of people will identify with the message Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 3

In case you missed the previous 2 postings in the series, I’ve included a link to each: Part 1: Social Oomph and Part 2: Tweet Deck, Twit Pic & bit.ly.

Twitter Tools for Business Building-Part 2

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 2This is Part 2 of Twitter Tools for Business Building.

The best way to implement Twitter for lead generation is to first build a reputation as a trusted source of information or being seen as an expert in a particular subject-while simultaneously building relationships and remaining personal and approachable.

Pushing out one way marketing messages about your business isn’t going to work, people won’t listen. You must ask questions, be personal, and engage others naturally within the community.

Once you are the source of value and have earned their trust, you can then offer information about your business opportunity or service or affiliate products. Your followers now trust that whatever you recommend is going to be beneficial to them or their business. But only tweet these paying offers sparingly.

Also, a good technique is to do a series of tweets leading up to your offer or product or business opportunity. Intrigue them and peak their interest for a few days before you tweet your paying offer. (See Social Oomph post about scheduling your tweets).

OK, on to some more third party Twitter tools that you will find useful.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 2TweetDeck-

This is a desktop application which allows users to filter and group their own and others’ tweets. It can simplify things by separating the people you follow into groups that show up as columns on your screen—for instance, you might see one column for friends, one for prospects, one for co-workers, etc.  So if you are having multiple conversations, they will be much easier to follow in TweetDeck .

It also includes tracking tools that allow you to streamline functions like replying to multiple users at once.

You can add multiple Twitter accounts or LinkedIn, Facebook and MySpace accounts.

The iPhone version was released on June 16, 2009.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 2TwitPic -

This is a website that allows users to easily post pictures to Twitter.

If you have a Twitter account, you already have a TwitPic account automatically.

Comments to photographs are sent as a reply tweet.

Twitpic URLs are already short, making it unnecessary to use URL shortening.

You upload your picture via your phone, an iPhone app, or through a Web interface — and TwitPic posts a link to the picture to your Twitter account. So when you tweet it, it shows up as a shortened URL with your message. When users click the link they will be taken to your TwitPic profile to view it.

Twitter Tools for Business Building Part 2Bit.ly-

This is a URL shortner that can post directly to Twitter.

If you share a lot of links on Twitter, bit.ly makes it a fast process by letting you shorten the URL and post to Twitter within the same screen.

You can post to multiple Twitter accounts using one bit.ly account.

Bit.ly lets you attach a brief code to the shortened URL, which then allows you to track how many people click on the link. You can also see more-detailed information about those users, such as the country where they’re located and the time of day they clicked.

Day 3 of my Twitter Tools for Business Building series will discuss 3 online strategies that will help manage your online Twitter reputation by tracking what others are saying about you as well as locate keyword-targeted fellow twitters.

If you found this information useful, please share this on your social media.

Respectfully,
